Jotaro Kujo is arguably the most recognizable JoJo in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. He's also the JoJo that makes the most appearances throughout the series, appearing in four out of the eight parts. I remember seeing Heaven Ascension Dio before watching Part 1 and wondering when and why does Dio turn into a Mexican Wrestler the image that GER was some kind of alien robot and while Of course now i know that was referencing how The World Over Heaven defeated GER, but at the time i assumed that meant GER was defeated by someone in canon
2 reasons. Out of universe: Dio in Part 1 was named after his god complex and DIO is the Italian name for god. Part 3 references the band DIO started by Ronnie James Dio who left Black Sabbath. In universe: DIO tries to further show himself as better than his past, if he can truly disconnect from it.
Dio hated him, coveted his life, and wanted to destroy and replace him. This was the life Dio had and was taught to never let anything stop him from anything. If life wasn't fair, he would ALSO be unfair and cheat his way to the top. Jonathan was the direct opposite of his ideals, and believed them so hard.
